Perhaps… study? | Open

It has been weeks since the kiss between him and Alice and he’d yet to see heads or tails of her. She said to them going out on a date, but after that he’d seen her rarely.  He knew he shouldn’t worry. This was what Alice did. She disappeared from his life for long periods of time. He thought back to Wonderland, how she never came back after that one tea party, but he’d always had faith she would. That she would come through that gate but she never did. He shouldn’t worry so much. He knew he shouldn’t worry so much, but it still didn’t make him any less nervous as he slid his fingers through his hair and made his way from his final class to the library. He had exams coming up and he figured the best way to distract himself from Alice was to maybe study.

Or pretend to study. His short attention span wouldn’t allow him to actually do that. But still he wandered into the library to find an empty table to study at. It was almost pointless though. Walking into the library pretending he would study. His mind was constantly moving, jumping from one thought to the other. Even more so when he couldn’t stop wondering what was going on between him and Alice. He liked her. He liked her a lot but with all that’s recently happened he wondered if the feeling was the same or if she was just caught up in the moment of his kiss. He pushed his glasses up to pinch the bridge of his nose in frustration. Alice was the only girl he’d ever liked. Before her he never cared about anyone or anything other than his perfect tea.

March opened his eyes and looked around. He’d successfully managed himself into the library without distracting himself to the pastry cart or some shiny thing. Maybe the school was changing him and helping him focus mo- There was gum on his seat! He frowned and looked for another seat and found himself just wandering around the library. One moment he was in non-fiction and the next he was looking through fiction. So much for focusing his attention on one thing. He sighed and leaned against a back bookshelf with a sigh. His head was constantly filled with thoughts and it was getting to the point of frustration. He needed a distraction.

flynnagan-rider:

Because last year I was Eric’s roommate. I would have chosen to be with him again because he’s pretty much my best friend, but I got a random assignment, so I’m rooming with Buzz.

I was never assigned a roommate last year. This year it seems that Tod and I are sharing a room. Is there something wrong with Buzz?

Tastes Like Tea // March&Alice

alice-wonderment:

Alice looked up at March for a moment, slightly stunned. Her experience with relationships and boy was very limited, being based solely on Stitch. She had to wonder if he was a bit of an anomaly, because it seemed like March was doing everything the exact opposite as Stitch had. She was finding she actually like that too, knowing exactly where she stood with the boy in front of her at all times, knowing how he felt. He wanted to go out with her, to date her. It wasn’t something that should seem so novel to her, but it did.

“Yes. I mean, yeah, of course!” Alice laughed lightly, throwing her arms around March’s neck and hugging him tightly. “Gladly.” She sighed into his neck, letting her eyes slip closed as she continued to embrace him. She’d known him for so long, had thought about him romantically once or twice, but it was hard not to when he always wandered around shirtless. But he’d always just been her friend, someone she knew she could depend on, but no one she could ever consider dating. And now here she was, sitting on his bed hugging him. She only hoped they didn’t mess anything up between them.

“This is good.” Alice smiled as she pulled back, re-affirming her own thoughts with words. “Just…can we make a promise? No matter what, no matter what we do, or how we end up feeling…can we promise we’ll never stop being friends? I know a lot of people start complicating things with romance, and it can get ugly but…let’s not do that. Let’s not…make it complicated. We’ll always be friends, okay?” She was entirely serious, she valued her Wonderlandian friends more then anything else in her life, and wasn’t willing to give that up. “Friends who…maybe end up more then that.” Her expression lightened and she leaned forward to kiss him once more.

His face was incredibly flushed when she said yes. More excited then he thought she would be. She’d never given him any signs that she wanted him so of course he was surprised. His arms wrapped around her waist and grinned. “This is wonderful!” He said excitedly as he pulled her close. All he wanted was to make Alice happy, especially after seeing her suffer for so long. March brushed the back of his hand down her cheek and nodded. “Yeah, this is good.” He agreed unable to wipe the smile off his face. He watched as he once more rambled for perhaps the third time that night. But nothing could put him out of his good mood. He nodded his head and smiled. “I will always be your friend, the Alice. No matter what.” He said with a grin that he couldn’t wipe off his face.

March played with the idea of being more than friends. He leaned in and kissed her again. “I promise, I will be your friend always.” He said with a shy smile as he picked up his glasses and placed them back on his face. “What would you like to do on our first date?” The words itself made his ears burn with embarrassment but the look on his face was undoubtedly the most excitement he’d ever felt. It was most definitely one of the best, if not the best unbirthday gift he’d ever received. Wait till Hatter heard about this. He hugged her once more and kissed her cheek. “I will be good to you, the Alice.” He promised and he had every intent as well. He wanted to prove to her he would be a good boyfriend. A better one than Stitch ever was.

Tastes Like Tea // March&Alice

alice-wonderment:

Alice sat for a moment, letting his words sink in. He liked her. March liked Alice. She let the grin stretch her lips now, her eyes opening as she peered happily into his face. “Really?” Her voice was light, her eyes shining with the first bit of honest happiness she’d had in a while. “Look, let’s not talk about…he doesn’t even exist anymore. You don’t need to tell me you’d be better, I know you are. I…” She paused for a second, biting her lip slightly as she tried to banish all thoughts of Stitch, which was maybe harder then it should have been. Instead of talking anymore, she reached up and gripped March’s glasses, pulling them gently from his face. She folded them neatly, and put them down beside them on the bed.

Without another word, she leaned in for another kiss, one hand brushing his cheek lightly. This was good, this was what she wanted. Being near March, who was basically perfect and then some. Stitch had been a mistake, some stupid high school girl’s fantasy about a bad boy. March was real, he liked her, she liked him. It could be something, something good that worked. She grinned into the kiss, pushing herself closer to the boy as her lips became more demanding.

“I didn’t realize—didn’t even think.” Alice mumbled as she pulled back slightly, smiling as she looked into March’s eyes, her body inching closer to him. “I mean, you’ve always been my friend, and the thought that you—that you might want more it’s…” She stopped talking and simply resumed her kissing him, moving to place light pecks along his jawline. “I’m sorry I didn’t know. I should have known.” She was hardly paying attention to what she was even saying, but she felt like she needed to apologize to him for not doing this sooner. It should have been obvious to her, that March liked her, that they could be together. Sometimes she was too oblivious for her own good.

There was a bit of joy that burst in him when her face seemed to brighten up with a pleasantly surprised look. And that was what March wanted. He wanted to make her smile, especially after so many months, all he wanted to do was make her genuinely happy. He continued to wring his hands in his lap as she started to ramble again. She knew he was better. The thought itself made his face break out into a grin. He glanced at her as she removed his glasses off his face and put them aside. March stared at Alice and found himself leaning in as well. His lips pressed against hers and he refrained from smiling too much, as much as he wanted  to he wanted to enjoy just this. He made an audible sound of surprise as she leaned further into the kiss, his hands moving to settle on her waist . March refrained from his usual comment of her not thinking and not talking, the last thing he wanted was to ruin this moment.

His eyes opened a little as she started to talk more and more and watched her move closer to him. Her words were confusing him, which was a surprise for once since it was he who hailed from Wonderland. He gulped a little as her lips trailed down to his jaw and he tried to refrain from clutching onto her too tightly but she was driving him a little crazy. More so than usual. “I-it is alright.” He let out, his eyes closed as one hand moved behind him and supported his body to stop himself from falling back. Alice was slowly moving closer to him, and while one arm was supporting himself the other had turned to wrap around her waist and enjoy the feeling of her kisses. He never expected her to be interested in him. Alice’s head was off in the clouds or wrapped up in rage with Stitch.

A part of him feared that … he didn’t want to think it, but he hoped that he wasn’t a distraction for her. Or maybe he wanted to be. He wanted to be whatever Alice wanted. He tugged her a little closer but was very precarious on how far he pushed his limits. The last thing he wanted was to ruin his chance of ever being with her. He pulled his lips away from hers for a second, still tingling with the feel and he glanced down at her. “So-… Does… I mean…” He was shy. March had always been one to say whatever it is that popped into his head but not this time. Not in this situation. “… Will you go out with me?” He asked opening his eyes to watch her reaction. He bit down on his bottom lip nervously and waited for her answer.

Tastes Like Tea // March&Alice

alice-wonderment:

Alice’s eyes turned to meet March’s as he placed his hands on her cheeks, her words dying off. She wondered briefly what he was doing, before she was being pulled forward slightly, March’s lips brushing her own. Her eyes remained open in surprise, and the kiss was over nearly right away. March’s face remained close to hers, though, her eyes wide as his thumb ran over her cheek. “Oh.” She mumbled, her eyes searching the face so near her own.

March had kissed her. March was holding her face in his hands, telling her not to give up of guys. Things suddenly started to make sense, and Alice’s cheeks lit up like a christmas tree. Before she could reply, March was retreating, clearly embarrassed. A smile was struggling to make it’s way to Alice’s face, but she was fighting it. Should she be happy about this? March was a good friend, one she’d had for a long time. He was nice, reliable, extremely attractive. It was unlikely he would ever hurt her like Stitch had, but could she take that chance again? Was she even over Stitch by now, or did that really matter? A million thoughts whizzed through the blonde’s head, but she settled on one in particular. Who cares?

“March, don’t—I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that all guys were bad, least of all you, I just…” She felt odd, and somehow empowered. Like realizing March liked her, and she could see very clearly now that he did, had somehow made her more confident. “March, I…do you….Do you like me? I mean like…you know, do you…ugh, I don’t know.” She sighed in frustration, throwing her hands up. “You like me, right? Like a boy likes a girl? Don’t give me some wishy-washy Wonderland answer either, no riddles here.”

She didn’t wait for an answer though. Didn’t want to, she could see the answer all over his face. Instead, she scooted closer on the bed, raised her hands to either side of his face, and leaned in to kiss him. It was a soft, fairly innocent kiss, but she pulled back slowly, her eyes remained closed as her face hovered near his. “Just tell me you like me, March.” She asked gently. She wanted to know she was wanted, especially by March, her long-time friend. March was good, he was right. March would take care of her. “I think I like you.”

Oh. ‘Oh’ was all she could say after his lips pulled away from hers. He kissed her. He kissed her and felt foolish. What was he thinking? This wasn’t Wonderland where things were thought backwards and sideways. Her cheeks were flushed and he could only imagine the shade of red his own face was turning. As a way to keep himself busy he tucked one leg underneath him and played at the end of his shirt. She was talking and as much as he wanted to stare at his hands the whole time he couldn’t. He couldn’t be rude to Alice, so his eyes blinked up to the blonde’s gaze and stared at her fearing that she was going to storm out the door. She didn’t look … angry at him, but the look on her face was also hard to decipher.

His fingers touched his glasses and fixed them though they didn’t need to be fixed and wrung in his lap with nerves. He wanted to tear his gaze down, to stare at his lap and wait for Wonderland to drag him through a hole in the floor. He opened his mouth ready to give her a backwards answer to her question. Not to purposely annoy her, but because it was just how he thought. His mouth shut though as she groaned in frustration. He blinked and tilted his head to the side to watch her with curiosity shining his eyes behind his spectacles. He opened his mouth once more but no answer came out. He did have feelings for her, but he didn’t know if he felt ready to let her know.

She’d come in to his room rambling and ranting about Stitch. The last thing he wanted to do was throw in his feelings for her and make the situation worse for her. That didn’t seem to be the case though as she moved a little closer to him. His hands fell to rest at his sides on the bed as she leaned in and kissed him. His eyes shut and one hand gingerly moved to caress her jaw, his lips moving with hers. He was excited. He was kissing Alice. No. He was kissing The Alice. She pulled back and his eyes opened just a bit to see what expression she was wearing but her eyes remained closed. He blinked at her odd request and he turned his head just a bit and kissed her cheek.

“I like you, The Alice. Very much so.” He said confidence in his voice. He blinked and heard the words ‘I like you’ omitting out the ‘I think’. He felt the corners of his lips tilt up and he slid himself a little closer. His idle hand moved to settle on her knee carefully. “I… I wouldn’t be like him.” He said his eyes still willing hers to open. He pressed a soft kiss to her lips. “…I would never hurt you like him.” He said knowing how much Stitch had hurt Alice. His thoughts going back to nights when she crawled into his bed in Wonderland and tried very hard not to cry and instead wrote it off that she had a nightmare. How she’d angrily yell at things. “I have liked you… for awhile, The Alice.” He said his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Tastes Like Tea // March&Alice

alice-wonderment:

Alice fumed as she stormed down the halls, anger bubbling under her skin. Who was Stitch to text her after months, telling her he missed her. If he missed her so much, he shouldn’t have had sex with someone else while they were dating, the asshole. Then he wouldn’t need to miss her. What did he expect, she’d tell him she missed him too, then prance back to his bed? Fuck that.

She made it to March’s room quickly, her purpose giving her speed. March had made a great friend over the summer, had always been a great friend, really. He’d helped her through her rough break up, giving her a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen to her woes. She felt bad always dumping her stuff on him, but he never complained, and in between all of her whining they had fun. So she figured their relationship worked, and didn’t plan on stopping her rants anytime soon. When she stopped at his door she knocked twice before letting herself in. She hardly even thought of the possibility he could be indecent, he was shirtless nearly all the time anyways.

“March, why does he suck?!” The blonde moaned as she stomped across his room, kicking off her shoes and falling onto his bed face-first. She assumed he would know who she was speaking about now, as Stitch was basically all she complained about. A few muffled words came through the mattress before she rolled over, her blue eyes searching out March’s face. She sat up slowly, finally acknowledging her surroundings. March was on the bed next to her, his usual patient smile on his face as she threw around colourful insults at her ex. She turned her body so she was facing him, one leg hanging over the side of the bed, the other curled next to her.

“I’m sorry I keep bugging you with this. He’s just such a—I don’t know—an asshole, and you’re so great to let me be such a bad friend. I don’t mean to, not really, but I get so worked up, and then I can’t stop my mouth going off, and if I could just find a nice decent guy, like I should have in the first place, or maybe just stay away from guys all together—” Her rambling continued, her mind full of the injustices of the dating world as she waved her hands around between them.

It was another night at the Academy and March was beginning to wonder why he was even there. None of his classes made sense, he was basically failing out of all of them. He didn’t have many friends, in fact the only reason why he stayed around and even tried was because of Alice. His reason for anything. Fine, March was completely head over heels for Alice. Ever since she first dropped in on his and Hatter’s unbirthday tea party. She had a lovely way of telling stories even if she did seem to get confused and at times didn’t want her tea, but she’d captured his attention. Unfortunately for him, it seemed that it hadn’t been reciprocated. No matter how obvious he was about it. March sat on his bed and sipped his tea and sighed.

Maybe he should just give up on his hopeless crush on Alice. It’d been months and he’d made no success in hoping she’d return his feelings over the summer. It’d been years since he first met Alice and she still had never shown any kind of sign of feelings towards him. Fucking Stitch. What did he have that made her drawn to him. He heard a knock on the door as he was in mid-sip and before he could tell whoever was there to come in Alice was barging in fuming. Uh-oh. He coughed and choked a little on his tea before he set the mug down at the side table. She was mad about her again. The last time he’d seen her this mad was when she’d accidentally called him up a little intoxicated and he never said anything in return the next day.

March straightened his back and watched Alice ramble on and on about Stitch. Stitch this and Stitch that. Even when they weren’t together, he was still all Alice thought about. He was so sick of it. She hadn’t even said hello, all he wanted to do was be the reason why Alice smiled again. He wanted to make her happy. But he hardly crossed her radar as a blimp. He smiled a little when she started to apologize and then ramble on a little more. Give up on guys? No. that didn’t seem like a good idea at all. “Al-… Alice…” He said trying to get a word in, but she was going off on a tangent. She didn’t seem to hear him at all.

Suddenly his hands reached out, cupped her face and pulled her lips to his. He hadn’t a clue what he was thinking. Not a single idea. But his lips were touching hers and he felt kind of giddy because he’d been wanting to do that for what felt like forever. He pulled back just a little and his thumb brushed over her cheek. “I… please… don’t give up on guys…” He mumbled his cheeks red and dropped his hands from her face. He cleared his throat and fixed his glasses as he stared at his hands. “All of us are not bad like him, the Alice.” He added quietly.
